Shot Youth Theatre, established in
1980, was a pioneer in the field of drama workshops and drama summer
schools - especially the idea of doing a show in a week.

We currently organise a variety of drama classes, and acting and theatre
activities. All of our drama classes and productions are staffed
by professional theatre workers and musicians. At present there is also a state-qualified
teacher on site at all times.
Our objective is to provide an enriching experience.
We give solid training in acting and other stage skills, stimulate creativity,
provide an exciting initiation into theatre and hope to fire students
with passion and enthusiasm.
We strive to develop self-discipline, reliability, co-operation, self-respect
and the desire to reach for excellence.
We also provide an opportunity to make new friends with similar interests,
and, for those at single sex schools, to work with people of another
gender.
Regular 90 minute drama classes for ages 5 - 19 in separate age groups.
Theatre games and improvisation designed to improve acting skills, build confidence, develop communication skills and make new friends.
All classes are taught by theatre professionals.
Six sessions each term. Hard work and fun!

These full-time, six-day drama holiday courses provide an opportunity
to participate in a show (as a perfomer or stage manager) with a professional
production
team in a professionally equipped theatre.
An intensive rehearsal period is followed by a performance. The week
is very exciting and rewarding, but requires both energy and enthusiasm.
We are not in the business of producing 'stars', but some of our ex-students
now work in professional theatre and television.
Regular students may be invited to join a leading children's and young
actors' agency with which we have close links.
